i had my first take in mid october. I will be retaking it in Late March - Mid April. I had initially set myself Dec end as the target date for the retake, but I just lost interest. My preparation first time around was OKish, not overboard, but i ended up shooting myself in the foot by not managing my time properly on the GMAT. Everytime i picked up a book after that, I just kept thinking back to the stupid mistake i made and couldn't re-start my prep.

But, in the last week or so, I have decided enough is enough and I have begun the long trek home. My goal is 750+. This was my goal first time around and I ended up with 690. Getting a 720 won't make any difference to how my profile is perceived. So I need a 750 desperately.

I have not resheduled it as of yet, but will definitely do so. Last time around, I rescheduled before I began my prep and ended up having to cut a few corners. I won't let that mistake happen this time around.

yeah, I really want to make the same type of jump you're looking to make. I'm just wondering would it be better to continue my routine and then take it again quickly, so I don't give myself any time to forget information or if I should spread it out and go slower since I won't apply until the fall.

if you are not gonna apply till fall, then take your time and take the exam in late may. That will give you enough time to research schoools and have the apps in by sept-oct.

I, on the other hand, am looking to submit apps for the 2010 intake. I want to give it a shot this year. If all else fails, I will re-apply for 2011.

Yeah, I think I'm going to just really take my time and learn grammar from the beginning to get Sentence Correction down. I will just continue to do what I've been doing with math. If I get my verbal to match my math, I will be fine I think.

osirus... what is your study schedule? I'd be curious to know. We're definitely in the same boat (except you'll be applying NEXT year) but I'm sure I can pick up some tips from you.

My study schedule is I alternate verbal and math days. I spend the majority of the time drilling past material so I don't forget, so for example, I will do two problems from each chapter of all of my Manhattan GMAT math books. I have every book except for geometry, so I have to get that one. I just knew I wouldn't have time to go through it before my test date, but now that I have time, I can go through that one as well. On my verbal days, I do 20 CR, 20 SC, and four RC passages. My plan worked with the math, but my verbal never really improved :(

So where do you take the 20 CR and 20 SC from each day? OG? I'd imagine that by now you would have gone through all of them.. since you were studying for the test before

Nah, I do verbal three days a week. Its hard to run out of material. I use SC 1000, so that's 1000 SC questions. I still haven't gone through most of the Kaplan 800 SC. With Reading Comp and Critical Reasoning I have 20 past LSATs. It will be hard to run out of verbal material.

SC 1000 is free just type in SC 1000 in google and you will find the website. I would only recommend getting Kaplan Advanced if you run out of material. Don't buy it before that point.
