Kaplan test

by hellother » Mon Aug 13, 2012 6:54 am
Hi,
I took a free online KAPLAN test ( from their website).
I scored a 650 overall .. Is this a good score ? Because many people say that Kaplan tests are tougher than the actual GMAT exam . Is this true ? If so, what would be my gmat score (approx) ?

Also the "Quants and verbal" split up is not shown... For ex " Q47,V35 ", which is generally shown in tests, is not shown in the Kaplan test..So does anyone know where the split up is shown in Kaplan,if such a "split up" exists in Kaplan?

Hey
I am not sure how accurate the free Kaplan test is. When I started my preparation for the GMAT, Kaplan's free online test was the first one that I took to check where I stand. In that I scored a 690(Quant-99th %ile, Verbal-39th %ile). But a week later when I took a practice test from GMATprep software, I scored a 590(Q-50,V-24).
I would suggest you to attempt practice test from the GMATprep s/w, because this is the closest to the real GMAT in terms accuracy.
I also found the practice tests by Manhattan fairly accurate. You can get access code to these by buying any of the ManhattanGMAT strategy guides.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.. and also ,I am aware of the Manhattan online tests. I took 2 of those tests and scored 640. But this was about a month ago ..and I wanted to take more Manhattan tests after some more prep.

And also can someone tell me where to find the break up between Quants (Q) and Verbal(V) in the Kaplan FREE online test ?? I am not able to find them... They just show the number of questions right , the number of questions wrong , % correct answers etc. But where can I find the break up between Quants (Q) and Verbal(V) ?

Please reply.
