Since the question asks for the closest answer, let us 1/9=1/8
As it will solve the question easily, it becomes: 1/(1/2)=2

One option is to replace each fraction in the NUMERATOR with its decimal approximation.

7/8 ≈ 0.88
1/9 ≈ 0.11
1/2 = 0.5

So, (7/8 + 1/9)/(1/2) ≈ (0.88 + 0.11)/(1/2)
≈ (0.99)/(1/2)
≈ 1/(1/2)
≈ 2

Answer: A

We can approximate 1/9 as 1/8, so the numerator is 7/8 + 1/8 = 1 and 1/(1/2) = 2.

Answer: A

[1] Approximate Values:
$$\frac{7}{8} + \frac{1}{9} \approx 1 $$

[2] Solve:
$$\frac{1}{\frac{1}{2}}$$
= 1 * 2
= 2
