If a, b, c, and d are nonzero numbers and a - b = c - d, which of the following is equal to -1 ?
(A) (a - c)/(d - b)
(B) (a - d)/(b - c)
(C) (b - c)/(d - a)
(D) (b - d)/(a - c)
(E) (d - a)/(b - c)

Few of all conclusions that we could draw from a - b = c - d are

a - c = - (d - b), oh! it alone worked
A
Substitute numbers.
3-1 = 4-2 (a-b = c-d)
a = 3, b=1, c=4, d=2

Only answer choice
(A)
gives the right answer. Substitute any other numbers and the answer will be the same.

Are there faster ways to do this ?
