In the first week of last month, Company X realized an average wholesale profit of $5304 per day from the
sale of q units of Product Y. Which of the following CANNOT be the difference between Product Y's sale
price and cost per unit?


$3 $4 $7 $11 $51

The average profit per day =5304.

Number of units sold = q

Let difference between cost price and selling price be (s-p)

Therefore, for the first week,

Profit =q(s-p). Also, profit for the week =5304*7

If we factorize 5304*7, we get 5304*7= 2^3*3*7*13*17.

We need to find the possible values of (s-p). They must be among the possible factors above.

Now, going by the options,

$3 can be a possible value
$4 can be a value
$7 can be a value
$11 cannot be a value
$51 can be a value (as 51 is 17*3, both of which are factors).

Basically, we need to understand that we have to find factors of the number and check.

So D is the answer.

To answer your other question, this is not 99%ile question, I feel it's just a notch below that!

Question rephrased: What was the amount of profit per unit?
Total profit over 7 days = 5304*7 = (2*3*4*13*17)*7.
This product is a multiple of every answer choice except for 11.
Thus, it is not possible that the profit per unit was $11.

The correct answer is D.
