Hello to everyone. I am preparing for GMAT using BEAT the GMAT 60 Day study schedule. By far, this is most comprehensive course and absolutely free.

Hi shubh425,

Since it sounds like you're just beginning your studies, then it would be a good idea to take a FULL-LENGTH practice CAT Test; you can download 2 for free from www.mba.com (and they come with some additional practice materials). If you want to do a little studying first, so that you can familiarize yourself with the basic content and question types, then that's okay - but you shouldn't wait too long to take that initial CAT. That score will give us a good sense of your natural strengths and weaknesses and will help provide a basis for comparison as you continue to study. A FULL CAT takes about 4 hours to complete, so make sure that you've set aside enough time to take it in one sitting.

Many Test Takers end up using a variety of practice resources during your studies, so you might end up adding some practice materials to the ones that you are currently using (depending on your particular needs).

I'd like to know a bit more about your timeline and goals:
1) What is your goal score?
2) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
3) When are you planning to apply to Business School?

As Rich points out, it's important to take a practice test early in one's studies. In fact, in BTG's 60-Day study guide, you're directed to take a full-length practice test on Day 3 (once you've familiarized yourself with the GMAT).

@Brent

First of all, thanks for creating a brilliant study schedule. I am a working professional with very limited time and I want to appear for GMAT on 06-Aug-16.

I was searching for some adequate resources to study and found gmatprepnow as an excellent tool. Along with 60 day schedule, I must say the video lesson are awesome and that too free. Daily one email makes me to concentrate on preparation for present day withiut worrying about the next day.

I did gave the GMAT prep test on 3rd day and scored a 650. My target score is 740 . Weakness Is the Verbal section.

650 is a fantastic baseline score (one that many would kill for :-))
A score of 740 seems quite realistic!

I think Brent is right that you can get that score, but don't give up hope if you can't get it in 60 days. Going from 650 to 740 requires you to leap about 20% of the test-taking population, and it's almost the most talented 20%: everyone in that range is hardworking, smart, and creative (or at least 2 out of 3 - sometimes the last two, sometimes the first two).

With that in mind, it's a question of outprepping your competition, so stick with it! You can make it happen.

I scored a Q44 and V36, didn't take IR and AWA sections.

Yes, I did take the test at the same time as my official GMAT

Hi shubh425,

Test Day is a rather specific 'event' - the details are specific and they matter, so you have to train as best as you can for all of them. The more realistic you can make your CATs, the more likely the score results are to be accurate. The more you deviate, the more "inflated" your scores can become - as such, you're going to want to take your future CATs in a more realistic way (take the FULL CAT - with the Essay and IR sections, take them away from your home, under test-like conditions, etc.), so you can properly training for the FULL GMAT 'experience.'

Be sure to take them on any future tests - you want to get used to the fatigue of having to do all three sections.
