I hope this is good problem for word translation!!!!!

12, 5, -6, -2, 24, 8, -13, 0, 23
In the list above, which of the following numbers is less than one-third of the numbers but greater than two-thirds of the numbers?

(A) 1
(B) 7
(C) 8
(D) 10
(E) 12

Let us first arrange the numbers in increasing order : -13, -6, -2, 0, 5, 8, 12, 23, 24

There are 9 number.
Hence, 1/3 of the numbers = 9/3 = 3 numbers
And, 2/3 of the numbers = 9*2/3 = 6 numbers

Hence, we need to identify those numbers from the options which are greater than 6 numbers in the list but less than other 3 numbers. Now, maximum of the smaller 6 numbers in the list is 8 and minimum of the larger 3 numbers in the list is 12.

Therefore, we should be looking for numbers which are greater than 8 but less than 12.

Only option D works.

The correct answer is D.
