hi shovan85
the answer is A
but one question from here,
how can we justify the usage of -this species of parasite has i was confused with plural noun species and singular verb has, or in this case we must apply to the singular pronoun-this- can you please explain?
that`s why i chose E but feel that it is wrong

What is the singular of species?
"species" is a Collective Noun like "Army", "Police". It is singular.
So usage of HAS is correct here
