I could eliminate A, B and C because "cases" are countable, so the 3 options with "much" are out of question.

D) many of the cases of Nipah virus infection that are documented in the human population result
E) many of the documented cases of Nipah virus in the human population result

What is the answer?
A/B/C - drop MUCH (many required as CASES is countable)
D - Wordy; DOCUMENTED IN HUMAN POPULATION means DOCUMENTATION IS DONE IN HUMAN (not sensible)
E- are you sure there is no INFECTION in E?

E

Thanks and yes, that's what threw me off. "Infection" wasn't included in E, which is the right answer.

Question is - in it's absence, is E still the right answer? We are talking about the virus infection and not the virus itself.

This is from today's Kaplan's question of the day.

Infection is redundant and thus not needed. If we're talking about cases of the virus, we're clearly talking about infections.
