Hey there is a tricky question..

The width, length, and diagonal of a rectangle could be represented by which of the following groups of numbers?

I. 2, 3, sqrt(13)
II. sqrt(10) , 4, 6
III. 3, 10, 11


I only

I and II only

I and III only

II and III only

I, II, and III


Now.. I say that this question is wrong.. does any one agrees with me.. ?? so do you say.. i'm wrong.. ?? :wink:

Nopes, I don't :-)

The width, length and diagonal of a rectangle will be a Pytahgorean triplet.
Looking at the options only I is a triplet.

(2)^2 + (3)^2 = (sqrt 13)^2

Choose the first option. (I) only.

I only. The key here is just test the lenth and width given for the triangle and see what you get for the hypotenus. The only one that matches is I.

The anwer is I. The question is correct.
use pitogorean theorem. sqrt (13) = sq(4) + sq (9). This check out and the rest are wrong.

The question is correct

For Rectangle:

All angles are 90 and opposite sides are equal.

So

Only I satisfies the Condition that

diagonal=sqrt(13),width=2,length=3

apply pythagaros theorem to find the diaognal

diagonal=sqrt(3*3+2*2)
