MR SC Problem

The CEO has proposed a new policy requiring that employees should retain all pensions indefinitely or be allowed to cash them in at retirement.

a)that employees should retain all pensions
b)that all pensions be retained by employees
c)the retaining by employees of all pensions
d)employee's retension of all pensions
e)employees to retain all pensions

IMO E

I think it should be E, with B it is changing the meaning of the second sentence. Whatever this looks tricky.

OA(MR) is E.
They say B is passive...not convinced with OA.
B looks good to me too.

I too fell for the trap. I went with the rules, but it is distorting the meaning.
And I got confused.

in case B...
all pensions
be retained by employees indefinitely or
be allowed to cash them

see the second part "all pensions be allowed to cash them" which is awkward.
