Hi All,

I just gave a GMAT prep #1.
Unfortunately I quickly moved from the scores screen to questoin review.
I recall that I scored higher Quant over verbal where as in Quant I have more wrong as compared to verbal and that too in beginning.
How do I see my scaled scores again?

In that case may be some can help understand this.
The scaled score I recollect
are Q 49 V 44

But in Quant I got 12 Wrong . The 1st wrong Ques was #7 and then #8.
In Verbal I got only 5 wrong and the 1st Ques was #20.

BTW on the last Q if you select an answer and don't confirm it. Does it go unanswered or is it automatically taken?

I really would appreciate help from if someone help me understand my scores. I have had 2 misses at GMAT and this is my last attempt for sure.

I am still not confident if I am ready for the exam.

i am guessing you must have had a score of atleast 750 overall. may be you could do a review of gprep 1 and take the gprep 2
i would kill for a score like that

Searching Q49 V44 for the forum shows that this should net you either a 750 or a 760. Both scores have come up in the past couple months on the actual exam for that scoring combination.

But What I surprised is that with only 5 wrong I scored 44 in verbal and with 12 wrong Quant I scored 49.
That sounds wierd.
Generally I want to understand that to score 40 how many Q's in verbal I need to get correct.

Although Quant and Verbal both use the same range of scores, they are scaled differently. I believe that the 80th percentile is around 46 for Quant and 36 for Verbal.

My tests show that you can miss approximately 9-12 Quant and get a 47-48.

My tests also show that you can miss approximately 9 Verbal Questions and get a 40. I missed 8 on my last exam and score a V42 (best performance so far).

Question difficulty is a much more significant factor than % correct, so these numbers are only estimates. However, if you can miss fewer than ten questions per section, you will probably break 700.

I agree with the above. The number you get wrong isn't as important as the difficulty level you're working in. If you're up into the harder-bin material, it's quite possible to get an excellent score and be getting nearly every other question wrong.

Also, as mentioned above, math and verbal are scaled very differently. For example, a 49 on verbal is well into the 99th percentile, but a 49 on math is "only" 88th percentile!
