Hello All,

I took the GMAT on Saturday after studying on my own for 2.5 months, 3 hrs on weekdays, 5-6 hours on weekends. It has been a while since I have studied this kind of stuff. I've been out of college for 7 years and working FT as a broadcast designer/animator. Needless to say there was a lot to learn! I was foolish to think I could do it on my own. I got a 440 and was completely depressed.

So, I have signed up for a Kaplan class which I hope will help me get some strategies down. I have the basics learned, I just need to get to the next step. My quant is abysmal.

I guess my question is, if I take this Kaplan class and work my hardest, is it possible to get in the low to mid 600s? I really don't want to have to go through this again!!

I will not say that it is impossible :D

You need to gauge your preparedness for the test whatever the method you adopt. So take practice tests as part of your prep process to find out where you stand. Allow sufficient time before your next attempt.
Wish you good luck

Thanks so much. I guess I just need a little reassurance. I feel like I worked so hard but I knew that I didn't have everything down 100%. I had a feeling that that was going to happen. I did a million practice problems and still saw 3 or 4 that I had no clue how to solve. it really freaked me out a little. Oh, well, hopefully the next one works out. It's just so frustrating.

Hi,

Just be calm and take more tests to gain confidence.
Confidence is what is needed to take the GMAT.
I hav given GMAT once and scored badly (470). I need to give it once more and need to score 700+.I have experience of 3 years in CRM domain and need to do MBA. GMAT has been my dream and find it difficult to pursue with the office workload.
