Difficulty levels in OG ?

by badri077 » Mon Aug 13, 2007 10:08 pm
Anybody have an idea of what the difficulty levels of questions in OG (11ed) are ? What about the q and v review supplements ?
Some posts mention that the last 100 or so questions are usually the more difficult ones.
But in my experience they seem to be the easiest ones ?

Thanks in advance for the clarification.

Badri,

Have you done the entire 100 odd questions in the end in Quant? Or are you basing your opinion on a selected few? When people say that questions are difficult, it's just relative to the earlier ones. Only the last 75 or so in DS and 50 in PS can even be classified tough. But on the test, you'll find every kind of question, easy to tough. So if you want representative questions, do the entire OG. If you just want tough ones or are short on time, stick to the end. The quant review is an overlap of OG10 questions and previous tests.

On Verbal, I would suggest to work through the entire set, especially SC.

The people who publish the book claim that the questions are in general order of difficulty - so the later ones are harder. Sometimes, I agree that a later question is harder, sometimes I really don't. But officially, the later questions are supposed to be the harder ones.

FYI - it's not at all unusual, though, for people to feel that individual questions are easier or harder than the question's actual difficulty rating. You're assessing the question based on your own strengths and weaknesses, which likely do not reflect the strengths and weaknesses of the population as a whole.
