A). 160
B). 175
C). 180
D). 190
E). 195
The assumption here is that the man is paid $2.40/hour during the first 8 hours of a given day, and then earns $3.20 for each hour past the regular 8-hour day.
So, as far as "regular" hours go, the man works 40 hours per week, which means 160 hours in 4 weeks.
At $2.40/hour, the man makes $384 for those
160 regular hours,
without any overtime.
We're told that the man made $432, which means he must have worked some overtime.
Since $432 - $384 = $48, the man made $48 in overtime pay.
At $3.20 per hour, this means the man worked
15 overtime hours (since 48/3.20 = 15)
So, in total, the man worked
160 +
15 hours.
He worked
175 hours.
