How to choose an option in SC questions when stuck between 2?

Hey everyone!
Need urgent help as I have my GMAT scheduled in 15 days.

On solving OG, I have an accuracy of 60% on medium-hard SC questions.
On all the ques with my incorrect ans, I've observed that the option that is usually my 2nd preference is the answer. If I apply 2 rules, I overlook one of the rules marking the wrong option between the 2.

Any tips or last min hacks?
