Manhattan tests

Hi dear fellows,

I have given MGMAT test with following scores. I am heavily disappointed with the results:

CAT-2
Score - 670
Q - 48[14 wrong :( ]
Verbal- 33 [18 wrong]

Verbal - correct ones:
RC - 8/12,
SC - 10/15
CR - 5/14

Are MGMAT tests close to real GMAT?

Please give your valuable inputs about sectional scores and how close MGMAT problems stand to real GMAT.

Desperately looking for help.

the mgmat isn't the best indicator of the score, although it is reasonably close. my mgmat score were anywhere from 660- 720, so they were a bit under my actual score. IMO, the quant is much harder than the actual GMAT. the gmat preptest is supposed to be the most accurate predictor of your score, though.

Are the MGMAT tests adaptive? My understanding is that the Quant on these tests is particularly difficult. Are these tests best for those looking to score 47+ on quant, or can they be just as useful for someone looking to score 44-45?

Basically, will these tests be too tough for someone currently scoring between Q 40-45?

they are adaptive. the first question you get is in the 500-600 range if i recall correctly. after that, they either increase or decrease in difficulty based on whether you got the previous question right (just like the actual gmat). once you take the practice test and you look at your report score, you can see the range of difficulty that each question falls under.
