essay related question

by v1shwanath » Sun Dec 07, 2008 6:11 am
Dear Lisa,
For an essay that involves describing an experiece that has had the greatest impact on me, I am narrating an incident that happened in 2001. its not just a single incident but the experience that i gained over a few months.

because it helped me improve my skills in so many ways, i am convinced that the experience of those few months are quite significant.
is it too far back in time, and will the admission committee want me to describe more recent experience that has had a significant impact both on me and my organization?
any pointers appreciated.
thanks!

warm regards
vishwanath

Dear vishwanath,

While 2001 is quite a ways back, if the experience deeply affected you and contributed to who you are today, then it is an appropriate example for the question. It is better to go with the best example than to create an example from recent experience.

Good luck,
Lisa
