Hi,

It would be very helpful if someone could please help me by evaluating my profile for below mentioned colleges. I have been following this forum religiously to find answers to my many queries, I am posting my profile because I find it very different or atleast have not found a similar profile...I plan to apply in Fall -2014 Full-Time MBA Program. I am not trying for any top 20 colleges.
1) Texas A&M - Mays School
2) University of Houston - C.T.Bauer
3) SMU Dallas - Cox School
4) Lamar University (as a backup)
4) S.P Jain, India (as a back up option in India).

Profile:
Gender - Female
Age - 27
Nationality - Indian

Educational Qualification:
10th & 12th - 83% & 68% respectively (CBSE board)
B.Tech in Civil (JNTU Hyd - 72% First class with distinction)
Year of Graduation: 2008

Work Experience: (5+ yrs)
Duration - May 2008 till date

I worked for around 3 yrs with Ramky Infrastructure ltd, Hyd. Initially I was Technical Assistant to Managing Director and was responsible for scrutinizing & analyzing the technical data coming from all sites and preparing reports to help MD take decisions. In a years time I got promoted as Engineer and was coordinating for a 570 Cr infrastructure project. My responsibility primarily involved tracking progress & providing any & every kind support to ensure smooth functioning of work at site.
Later I joined L&T Construction (2+ yrs) as Sr.Engineer and was coordinating for approvals of finishing works of a 44 Cr project. I was selected by my Cluster to become a part of the business development team wherein the work involved direct interaction with prospective clients to understand their requirements. We successfully won a 360 Cr building project in Kolkata from a reputed real estate developer. Presently I am working as Assistant Construction Manager handling extra claims for a 450Cr building project.


Extra-Curricular Activities:
1) Volunteer for a NGO group working which provides primary education for the under privileged children in rural areas.
2) Was actively involved in organizing events at school and college level.

GMAT Score:
530 (> 2 yrs ago)
I was discouraged with the dismal score and never applied for any colleges and postponed all plans for higher studies.But now I intend to take GMAT again in 1st week Dec'13 and in my first prep test scored 560 (Q38 V29).I am working hard and plan to improve the score upto 640-680 range.

Post MBA Plans/MBA expectations:
I am interested in applying to US colleges for full time course.
I am looking for a career change. Interested in Consulting/Operation Management/Strategy/General Management.

A very rough rule of thumb for Indian applicants is to add 30-40 points to the median average GMAT score for a school to determine the average Indian GMAT score for that school.

So, with a low 600 GMAT score you are at least competitive for University of Houston and SMU Dallas. Given Lamar University's average GMAT score of 495 you are already competitive for their program.
