I'm interpreting the question as
S2 gives us
1/s - s > 0
(s - s*s)/s > 0
If s < 0, then we have s - s*s < 0, or s < -1. If s > 0, then we have s - s*s > 0, or 1 > s > 0. Since s could be > 0 and could be < 0, this is NOT SUFFICIENT.
S1 is obviously sufficient. (So obviously sufficient, in fact, that I feel the problem must not be presented correctly.)If -5 < s < 5, is s > 0 ?
S1: s > 4
S2: 1/s > s
