nutritionists ............contribute to heart diseases so negate D and E,

left with ABC....
in B and C,.,. 'them' is used which we might take for elevated cholestrol levels but we got same possibility to treat them for nutritionists so negate B and C..
left with A, which removes ambiguity by mentioning elevated levels later on...
