my first test:DISSAPOINTED

by uptowngirl92 » Fri May 08, 2009 5:49 am
So i took the princeton free test:heard its relativly easy.Sat for the full test(along with the awa)i think that was a major reason for my low score which by the way is 560 V30 Q37.Fact is the test WAS easy,i was'nt having difficulty with the content only that i could'nt sit and so my head was'nt into it.I could'nt wait for it to be over even though i wanted a nice score.Bottom line:i just could'nt sit and give even a mediocre performance:(

My test is in August.I know i have time that is why i study 4 days a week 3 hrs. so as not to over do it and not be too relaxed also.1 day is test day,1 day is test analysis day and 1 day I take off.Right now I am in the middle of doing OG11.I am making a log of all the sums i am doing and making notes. Please tell me how to proceed.

I think you are on the right track. Since this was your first test dont worry about not being able to sit through it. Its very very common. As you start preparing and taking more and more practice tests, you will build that stamina and will be able to focus on the test. Its like running a marathon. I bet you wouldn't be able to run 24 miles the first time. It take training and so does the GMAT. Keep practicing and you'll be able to see a steady rise in your score and your stamina.

Good luck.

half the gmat battle is won if you can endure the test w/o the loss of stamina.

if not more, your stamina is as important as your content knowledge!

I would suggest whenever you take a test, take it in a simulated environment, similar to the actual test. DO NOT skip the AWA section ever! this will not only help you practice the essays but also help in developing a stamina..

also while you are preparing for the test , do so in blocks of continuous 80 minutes this will further help you build on your endurance..

just my two cents..

atb!
