Master in Management Admission: GyanOne

by jade11 » Fri Dec 12, 2014 12:04 am
Cracked the Master in Management program at ESSEC Business School. Really excited and want to thank GyanOne MBA Admission Consultants for their expert help throughout the admission process. I am glad to get in touch with them as they are the best consultants in the MiM sphere in India. Their detailed help in selecting the right Master in Management programs and then preparing essays/ applications for them has been instrumental in my success.
Having studied management in my undergrad, I was clueless on questions like "Why management in post grad?" and "Why you?".
Was impressed by the way they helped me in understanding the right points to be highlighted in my profile in applications and interviews.
You guys rock! Wish you all the best!

ESSEC Master in Management

ESSEC Master in Management: A Top Ranked MiM program in France

Ranked third in the latest FT ranking for MiM programs, the ESSEC Master in Management (or the Master of Science in Management, as it is formally known) is a top emerging option for students looking at Masters in Management programs in Europe. The program has been high on the popularity lists of MiM applicants with above average GMAT scores because it offers some truly unique features. A dual campus in Singapore, exchange programs with dozens of schools abroad, and extensive industry integration are only some of those aspects. The program is highly rated in France, and is considered second only to the HEC MiM program in that region. With early-career applicants increasingly looking at MiM programs as an excellent career option, the ESSEC MiM is seeing a rising number of applications.

ESSEC MiM average GMAT scores and placements

One of the key issues that applicants to the ESSEC MiM program look to address is the average GMAT score at the ESSEC MiM program. While ESSEC does not put out the averages, and instead states that a GMAT score of 600 and above would make an applicant competitive, a score of 660 and above is generally required to do well in the admissions process. This is just an estimate, and people with lower scores regularly get admissions offers from ESSEC MiM (applicants with higher scores are rejected too, so a higher GMAT is no guarantee of admission to the prestigious ESSEC Master in Management). Given the pool of applicants for the program, though, which is getting more and more competitive each passing year, a good GMAT score is going to be an important parameter going forward. Can Indian Applicants Aim for Scholarships at Top MiM programs?

MiM scholarships, or scholarships for Master in Management programs, are highly sought after by each applicant to these early career management programs. With most top MiM programs in Europe (although some top schools in the US, such as Kellogg, and Ross, are also catching up), a majority of applicants looking for early career options have their sights set on not just admissions, but also scholarships in Euros! This post discusses some of the criteria that top management programs use to award scholarships and also highlights a success story of Vishal Sanduja, a GyanOne client who won a EUR 20,000 scholarship to ESSEC and an admit to the HEC MiM too. Vishal joins multiple GyanOne clients who have made it to top MiM programs in the past.

MiM essays and their role in scholarships
The fact that MiM essays play a big role in earning scholarships is not a secret from most MiM applicants. However, MiM applicants also need to exhibit greater achievement based on fewer experiences as compared to their MBA applicant counterparts, because the huge factor of work experience is absent or restricted largely to internships. Work achievements therefore play hardly a role. Further, most MiM applicants bring in achievements that are not very different in nature (the college experience provides for similar opportunities), and therefore differentiating oneself is very important. MiM applicants also need to enunciate career goals with greater clarity, because their statements of the future are not based on exhibited professional achievement, but an extension (and often a change) of what they have studied.
