Percentiles: Should I focus on Quant?

by InkyBinky » Tue Jun 22, 2010 11:30 am
I just took the GMATPrep test #1 for the second time (I only recognized a couple of repeats) and my score was 720 (44Q/44V). Looking at the table below, my verbal score would be in the 97%-range and my quant falls in at only the 70% range. I missed 15 quant questions (yikes!) and 5 verbal questions.

So given the gap between my percentile scores, should I focus a lot more on the quant section? Would improving my quant performance have a big positive effect on my overall score? If so, how much more should I focus on quant?

Thanks.

You should def focus on quant. If you got a V44, that means you only missed like 5 questions. While you can definitely still improve your verbal score, you have a bigger opportunity to improve your score by focusing on quant.
