"Once" is an adverb that could be used to mean "one time only," or "at one time." There's no universal rule about the verb tense that goes with once.I am confused with the use of type of verb next to "ONCE". Pls help me out.
"I will take this test once." (I will take the test one time.)
"This town was once uninhabited." (At one time, the town was uninhabited.)
The context of the sentence will dictate the appropriate verb tense.
