How to choose a career goal

by ITpool » Fri Aug 31, 2012 2:08 am
I feel this could be the most silly question.
I am from IT pool with 6 years of experience in Consulting.
I feel mentioning CEO or CFO or CIO would not be a realistic goal for me.
I would like to take a challenging responsibilities. Would it be wise to consider the Managers or Senior level managers profile ,who have done MBA, that interests me.

it's not a silly question, but I'd definitely go with your gut. What kind of positions do those in your firm with MBAs have? I'd say use them as a frame of reference. Be ambitious but be grounded, and it sounds like you're already doing both!
Blogging about the MBA application process. Because I need to do something with all this bschool energy.

Sure that could be fine too. But keep in mind one thing: That when you ASPIRE, you are aiming towards the interests of the Business Schools. Meaning they want more than anything to put out people who will become CEOs, important politicians, etc. etc. Sooooo, not everybody needs to be a CEO! But it should be ambitious and respected nonetheless. If it sounds too plain, they might think you were unmotivated...
