GMAT No Show--How soon can I reschedule my appointment?

If I am a "no show" for a GMAT exam appointment, do I have to wait 31 days to reschedule the exam or can I reschedule for the next available appointment?

I am sick and it is already within 24 hours of my exam so I can't officially cancel it, but don't want to wait 31 days to retake it.

As long as you do not show up and do not sign in -- then it should not be counted as an attempt and you should be able to sign up for the retake as soon as an appointment is available.

From my understanding, if you even sign in and then flee in terror then you have to wait 31 days. But if you do not even sign in you should be able to reschedule right away.

Is this the understanding that others have as well?

It is true that you dont have to wait 31 days to reschedule based on the gmat handbook.
Now it's 16 days :

But in case of a no show, is it counted as an attempt or it doesn't affect the remaining number of tests ??

Here's what the handbook says about missing your appointment: If you miss your appointment, you may schedule a new exam without waiting a full 31 days, but you must schedule by phone and pay the full registration fee.


Because you don't have to wait the allotted time to reschedule - now 16 days- it certainly sounds as though a no-show would not count as an attempt.

A little confused as to why there is a need to call GMAC for rescheduling if there happens a no show. Can someone please let me know. Is it just for informing them? Because, when I just called the customer rep of GMAC, I was told I can book online itself (Which I already knew and could have done, had they not asked me to call them for rescheduling). I am confused. Is the requirement just for informing them that you didn't show up?

HI AbhiMBA,

If you don't actually show up for your scheduled appointment, the $250 fee will still be charged, but there shouldn't be any 'down time' before you can schedule your next appointment. It's also likely that you wouldn't have to call in either.

Are you asking because you've actually missed your appointment? Have you attempted to log into your account at www.mba.com and schedule another appointment?
