Mock Gmat

by parulmahajan89 » Mon Sep 23, 2013 6:49 pm
Hi all,
I have given three GMAT mocks so far. I got 590 in two but last one got 500. SO kinda disappointed. My goal was to give Gmat next month somewhere in late October. I am not sure if I should take a chance and schedule exam or give myself more time.

Also would appreciate any suggestions on time management and sources for prep exams. I am not sure if it is advisable to do Mock tests from one particular source or try different sources.

Please suggest

Thanks
Parul

Hi Parul,

What is your score goal? While practice CATs are a way to measure your ability, they DON'T inherently make you a better Test Taker. If you want to significantly improve your score, the more relevant question is what resources have you been using to study (and are they enough to get you to your goal?)?

I suggest that you use a Milestone Chart to help you stay on track. This is covered in our free GMAT time management video at https://www.gmatprepnow.com/module/gener ... es?id=1244

Cheers,
Brent

Hi Brent,
Thank you for sharing those videos.

Rich,
I have been mainly using OG-12. Have done Kaplan and Princeton as well. I am not sure if it is enough. Also I think I am struggling with time management

Hi Parul,

There are a few Time Management articles written by the Stacey (MGMAT instructor). Taking insights from the various methods posted there you can create a customized plan that works for you.

Hi Parul,

If you can answer a few more questions, then that would be helpful:

1) What is your scoring goal?
2) Where do you want to apply to school?
3) Are you on any deadlines?

Hi Parul,

One more question: How long have you been studying?

As far as where to take your practice tests from - of course there is one source that is the most official which is GMATPrep. Other exams are unofficial and it is a good idea to take exams from different sources to get an idea of where you stand.

If you have not taken it yet the new FREE Veritas Prep CAT that went live this Spring is a great practice test. Students have reported to me that it is challenging but accurate. Here is the link: https://www.veritasprep.com/gmat/free-gm ... tice-test/

Veritas students get five more of these tests. Have fun!

This one is NOT new after September 10th. Have you tried the question bank?
