Diagnostic 1st Manhattan CAT GMAT 530!!

by transfer9858 » Sat Jan 21, 2012 3:44 pm
I just started my preparation for the gmat, scheduled at the end of may. My first score was a 530 28 quant 35 verbal on the first manhattan gmat cat, even though I took their "math readiness test" and got a 95 percent, weird.

I am happy as I think math will be a lot easier to improve on than if i was a non-native speaker and had to improve on english. My final goal is a 700+, let the games begin.

Its better to start off with a GMATPrep test than with MGMAT mock. MGMAT quant is difficult and verbal will be a bit inflated, so use GMATPrep.
Getting defeated is just a temporary notion, giving it up is what makes it permanent.

Readiness (i.e. understanding the concepts) is different from answer GMAT style questions. Don't get discouraged early on, keep working on the problems to get a feel for the right way to answer them. Good luck!

Thanks. I just did 50 problems out of the OG 12, 20-70 and got 47 right, so my 28 quant is confusing..

Remember that the early questions are the easier questions in the OG. Try doing the last 25 or so and see how you are doing.
