$$Let\ the\ total\ revenue\ =20\ $$
$$\frac{1}{3}of\ \ revenue\ from\ last\ quarter\ from\ foreign\ client$$
$$foreign\ client=\frac{1}{3}\cdot20=\frac{20}{3}=6.67$$
$$\frac{1}{4\ }of\ their\ revenue\ \ from\ out\ of\ the\ state\ clients\ $$
$$=\frac{1}{4}\cdot20=\frac{20}{4}=5$$
In State client revenue = Total revenue - [sum of revenue from foreign and out of state clients]
In State client revenue $$=20-\left[6.67+5\right]=11.67$$
In State client revenue $$\%=\frac{11.67}{20}\cdot100=58.35\%$$
Question says company get 13 of its revenue from last quarter from foreign clients not workable because the total of foreign clients was not obtained, A typographical error was observed on 1/3 as 13.

Since we have to deal with 1/3 and 1/4, let's consider that the revenue = 3*4 = $12

=> Revenue from foreign clients = 1/3 of 12 = 4
=> Remaining revenue = 12 - 4 = 8

=> Revenue from out-of-state clients = 1/4 of 8 = 2

=> Revenue from in-state clients = 8 - 2 = 6

Thus, percent of revenue came from in-state clients = (6/12) *100% = 50%

The correct answer: D

Hope this helps!

Let $30 be the total revenue. We see that 1/3 x 30 = $10 were from foreign clients. Thus remaining $20 were from out-of-state clients and the rest from in-state clients. Since 1/4 x 20 = $5 were from out-of-state clients, therefore, 30 - 10 - 5 = $15 or 15/30 = 1/2 = 50% of the total revenue was from in-state clients.
