Still need to make my 3 week macro POA..but here is how I spent my day.
Note:3 weeks my main focus is GMAT..have entire day to give to it.

Another note: Just for info my last(+3 weeks) gmatprep score was 660(Q47 V35).A week back had taken Powerprep (mainly because I did'nt feel like studing..and I knew powerprep had repeat questions from OG so kind of a revision..)710(Q48 V39)

Note to myself:My main weakness is my inability to sit for longer periods.. so from now on I am going to clock my sessions..90 minutes stretch or more? Opinion??

SC: Brutal SC's 25-45.I had done the first 25 over a period of last 3 days and man was it BAAAD!!My hit rate is below 50% :(. I noticed that my reasoning was right and I was heading down the right path..but ultimately when it boiled down to the last two choices,I selected the wrong one. This was quite a trend.. I wonder if it says something..?!
SC is my weakness but I am not THIS bad at it!! This was terribly de-motivating and made me completely give up.On top of it,It took me AGES to even review it thoroughly.
On the positive side,it made me remember points which are rarely used and even though I knew the concepts it had gone to a dark corner of my brain..:)
Opinions??I have already done 45/70 so might as well finish up the rest tomorrow...
I also did 20 questions from Kaplan800..walk in the park..

RC:The source was a problem.Really don't know where to practice RC's from.Suggestions??
For some weird reason I decided to do 3 passages from Kaplan800(Have hardly opened this book..did a lil' bit of quant from it ages ago)
3 passages..Blinded by science..Has anyone done it??It's mind numbing!!As if RC is'nt already a big pain..hit rate: 2/4, 2/3, 4/4.Could'nt make sense of any of the passages I read so ok with the result.

Quant *still not reached the score of 50,which I know is very much doable, all thanks to DS..:(
DS: While I have solved OG 11/12 PS thoroughly and also done the error log, unfortunatly the same cannot be said for DS.So for DS I am going to stick close to OG.
Did #'s 100-125 OG12.Hit rate, as expected was low.Got to make sure I give DS proper attention everyday.

Topic of the day: HCF/LCM >>spent around 45 mins. Doing sums from the forum on this topic. The concept is MUCH clearer now.

????: I have solved OG11 and quant review and the DS in OG12 is MARKEDLY tougher than the former two books. Is this so or am I just really really out of practice??

I had come across this site Magoosh.com.Liked it because though the problems presented are not too difficult, some are tricky, and I really really need to cut down on the silly mistakes. They have video explanations which makes it kind of fun..so I plan on spending some time on the site when I am wiped out or when it's just not "my time of the day".I have a feeling this site will help..

P.S..Planning to restart my going to the gym from tomorrow..need the strength!![/u]

Sigh...no comments,no inputs from anyone???

I really need to chalk out my plan on the whole..please help me with that guys..The truth is I am a bit apprhensive of makeing the POA,I know seeing so much stuff to be done will get me congused..but if I have a proper plan I work better..

Some thoughts:
1.CAT's.i read that in the last 3 days no tests should be taken.Fine.So should I take 3 more each per week??that will take away 3 days:(.Havent taken a test recently so i really really need to take it.Here's what I am thinking:I have one gprep left so will take that this week..ad then reinstall and take it twice again.Or should I opt for manhattan free test once?SUGGESTIONS!!

2.Error log.Should I keep it the entire error log for last week?Or is that too late??

For the next 10 days or so I am thinking of doing the following:
Q:Topic wise.

CR,RC:LSAT papers(Dicey about RC as I know the structure is different from that of gmat..)

SC:finish about Brutal SC..do from forums..lets see..

Here are a few thoughts:
- CATs should not be taken too often - I recommend not more than one every 405 days, preferably once a week
- go for the free MGMAT test, it's worth it - although IMHO you will get a slightly lower score as compared to GMATprep
- for SC, you should use the MGMAT SC guide - buy it and get access to the 4 online CATs as well
- for RC, your best bet is to use up all the official stuff first - consider investing in the verbal supplement if you have not already - or LSAT sets (ignore the questions with two texts)

Hey Uptowngirl ! =)

Also have an appointment soon (6th of November). I took the test a month ago after two weeks of preparing (though it was not enough =) )
1) Try to determine your relatively weakest sides on the GMAT ( for me it is verbal part, it affects my score in a very much bad way). Then focus on the questions that are belong to this side, turn on your timer ( if a speed is the issue that you are nervous of, of coarse), and solve a part (50-100 q's) as good as you can. When you identify the most common fallacies, focus on them, make yourself know them cold (c), surf forums or books. Then take another 100 q's.
Take a prep CAT, only after you recognize all of the weaknesses that might undermine your score!

2) Do not read bad experience posts! AT ALL! Read just those that are filled with very good emotions!
3) Do not get nervous about the test, do not let bad feelings and expectations about the test results go in your head! All you have to do is to think about the best that can happen to you on the dayX. (NotaBene: it works when you put efforts in the result) =)

Well, those creepy things worked for me. =)

P.s. about GmatPrep, i do not believe this prep test anymore. To me, its verbal part is kind of outdated.
1st i took gmatprep test (about a 1,5 months ago)- scored 590. Then took 3 mgmat CATS - scores varied around 650. Took official GMAT - 680.
After first appointment i didn't really go out of my flat (for 3 weeks now, okaay may be a couple of times)
So, This Monday took fourth Mgmat - 760, Tuesday gmatprep-590(LOL 50 quant -20verbal, worked really hard on SC and Math after the prep), today - mgmatprep - 780 (51 quant, 45 - verbal). It is really confusing. In real gmat i scored 37 Verbal part, i do not believe that the difficulty of gmatprep and official test can vary THAT A LOT!.

Wow..I am really surprised about the test results!1Good in a sense 'cos it takes the pressure of..I am procastinating taking the gprep 'cos in my head its like"it will tell you where you stand..and if it's at a place you don't like..well.."

Day 2+Day 3(day 2 loads of time wastage, day 3 has just started have to finish my workload)

So by end of today I will have completed:
Brutal SC's remaining questions+overall review of all the 75 questions (even the second time around I am getting stuck on some of the questions)

DS OG 12 100-175..some of these questions are really really nice!

Topic of the 2 days:
Statistics..around 20 questions each of PS and DS from the forum.Encountered some high level ones..really nice..
Have to do a couple of RC's today..
Have to make the POA for the remaining days..ending up wasting a lot of time...stay tuned!!
Tomorrow planning on taking MGMAT free cat...nervous!!

Well, if it's like that, then I guess taking GMATprep 2 and then retaking the exams is pretty ok. I myself did not even reinstall the software and still got only like 1 or 2 repeats.

Error logs are useful to some extent, but I guess in your case they would not make that much of a difference. I say keep one if you feel like it! The way I focused on my errors was this: I needed more practice for problems that I felt I had trouble with. This "feeling" is what motivated me, not that I answered it correctly. After all, just getting a problem right doesn't cut it: you have to be able to get it right in any circumstances and know the stuff really, really well!

Hi uptowngirl92,

No need to be disappointed with this score. I too had got a Q43 on MGMAT a week before my actual GMAT, but later scored a Q48 on the actual GMAT exam.

Also, have you gone through the 99 percentile Quant questions posted by zuleron?

Hey..it's been a couple of hours since the test and I am really not able to let go off it..The review was another nail in the coffin..silly mistakes and how!!!Marked wrong answers,Twice did a sign mistake, multiplied values where addition was required..sigh..Don't know what happened..I was all set to get my highest score and give my best, instead got the lowest imaginable..

A note:Around question 26 i had a sinking feeling that something was wrong 'cos the questions I was getting was easy..the previous times I had taken a CAT i was at a loss in Quant..when one is lost it means that you are doing better,'cos the questions you are getting is of higher level...ALWAYS trust your instinct!!The cherry on the top is that i actually rechecked some of the answers that I got wrong!!

@sreak1089:Thank you so much!!..no I have not done the questions..I wonder why they don't make such threads a sticky or compile them somewhere..
