All of the furniture for sale at Al’s Discount Furniture is offered for less than the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP). Once a year, Al’s holds a clearance sale. If Jamie purchased a certain desk during the sale, did she get a discount of more than 50% of Al’s regular price for the desk?

(1) Al’s regular price for the desk is 60%, rounded to the nearest percent, of the MSRP of $2000.

(2) The sale price was $601 less than Al’s regular price for the desk.

that means it has to be 50% on AIs price and not on MSRP.
1. Doesnt tells the price at which Jamie got it.
2. tells that it was less 601 than regular price ..but again regular price is not given.
Combining 2, we get the answer, hence C.
Thanks

Statement 1: The discount can be anywhere between 59.51% - 60.49% (Since it is rounded off to 60%)

applying discount of 60.49% on 2000 = 1209.80
applying discount of 59.51% on 2000 = 1190.20

Statement 2: Jamie bought the desk for $601 less than Al's discounted price..

601 < 50% of (1209.80)
601 > 50% of (1190.20)
