How good is Grockit?

Hello, I am a relatively new member on this site; I've been trolling on here for a few weeks now. I just wanted to ask how effective is Grockit? Thanks in advance!

My opinion is probably biased since Grockit is one of our partners--but I think that they have a very innovative approach to group study and a neat analytics system to track your strengths/weaknesses. If you haven't done so already I would sign up for their free trial, try a couple games and make your own assessment.

Let us know what you think! Good luck,

Eric

I signed up for the free trial a while ago. It's a fun concept. Since I'll be taking the MGMAT in-person course (hasn't begun yet) I've just been doing some preparation on my own. I've found that Grockit is good for those days when I don't feel like hardcore studying & reading for hours... I feel as if I haven't wasted a day by going on there and working out some problems for a bit.
My goal is to make MBA applicants take onus over their process.

I used Grockit in my earlier stages of prep and found it to be useful. Now that it seems that I've exhausted the questions (frequently seeing repeat questions), I don't go on it as much. However, there are explanations for most, if not all, of the questions with feedback from other users explaining their answers, which I also found to be pretty useful.

Grockit - makes learning fun. The catch is one needs to go back and review the games. Playing removes the stress of GMAT prep and makes things into prospective. The tutor facility of Grockit is very cool for $10-15 /hour you can have expert tutors help you.

Hi,

I subscribed at Grockit and here is my limited analysis.

- learn in groups - you can learn from others
- analytics is cool if you do many many problems and you take it seriously and not socialize
- platform for tutoring is good also network with those like minded (prospective MBAs, GMATters, etc)
- good value for money
- not a large question bank
- sole focus on practice rather than theory. (both are needed/required to do well on the GMAT)
- someone always willing to help and connected 24$
- you can take classes 1 on 1 anytime and pick the brains of a pro for only 5-10-15 $
- mini quizzes to track your strengths weaknesses.

If your this type of learner its great and it is good. I would use it as a supplementary tool for studying rather than having it as my sole material. I hope I add some insight and not repeating what has been mentioned before.

Take care,
Jas
