I had a difficult time mapping and visualizing this problem.

If quadrilateral ABCD is inscribed into a circle, what is the value of angle BAD?

1. AC = CD
2. ADC = 70

IMO E


Statement 1 - Insufficient
AC = CD

In the attached image we can see that even if AC = CD angle BAD can have more than one solution


Statement 2 - Insufficient
ADC = 70

In the attached image we can see that even if ADC is constant or 70, angle BAD can have more than one solution

Taking 1 & 2 together, BAD can still have multiple values

By initial analysis, we know that both (1) and (2) are alone Insufficient to solve for the value of <BAD. As you can see from the below figure:

Now we combine both (1) and (2), and see that now also, we cannot get the value of angle BAD.
