Is q an integer?

1. q + 6 is an integer
2. 2q is even

OA - D Pls explain how statement 2 is sufficient. When it says even, do we need to take it as even integer?

Even is Even Integer only

-6,-4,-2,0,2,4.............all are Even

To explain 2, we need to understand that Odd, Even and Prime are all properties of integers ONLY.

So let us look at stmt 2.
2q is even.
ie 2q = 2n, where n is an integer.
=> q = n.
So q is an integer.

Takeaways:
1. Odd, Even Prime are all defined on integers ONLY.
2. Even integer can be represented as 2n,
Odd integer can be represented as 2n+1
where n is an integer
