This is one of the simplest questions you'll find:
1st condition -> x can be 1.5 or 2.9 , so not sufficient to know whether 1<x<2
2nd condition -> x can again be 1.5 or 2.0, so not sufficient to know whether 1<x<2
Combine both the conditions:
Basically the condition boils down to 0<x<3 which is obviously not equal to 1<x<2 ( think of values like 0.5,2.5 etc.)
Hence option E.
