Dividing \(x^2 + y^2 = 12\) by \(xy = 5\), we get \(\dfrac{x}{y} + \dfrac{y}{x} =\dfrac{12}{5}=2\dfrac{2}{5}\)

The correct answer: A

Hope this helps!
