Of the five coordinates associated with points A, B, C, D and E on the number line above, which has the greatest absolute value?

(A) A
(B) B
(C) C
(D) D
(E) E

The OA is A.

Please, can any expert explain this PS question for me? I don't understand why that is the correct answer. Thanks.

One way to think of absolute value is as follows: |x| = distance from x to 0 on the number line.
In the above number line, A is the farthest from 0, so A must have the greatest absolute value.
