1/(a-b)<(b-a)?

stmt1,

a<b

-->a-b<0 or b-a>0

Since a-b is negative the above equation is true.

Sufficient.

stmt2,

1<|a-b|

We don't know whether a-b is positive or negative.

Insufficient.
