For the maximum value of N, I'd say N=infinite :)

To determine the minimum value of N, we would need to use logarithms since, at some point, we'd have to determine the smallest value of x such that 5^x > 2^3000
I won't get into how I arrived at that part of the solution since the original question is out of scope as far as the GMAT is concerned.

The question would, however, make a great question for a forum titled Beat the Algebra II Test :)
