What is the perimeter of the triangle in the figure above?

(1) The side across from interior angle z measures 2
(2) 2x > y

From the diagram, we can see that
\(y = z\) and \(y= x \Longrightarrow x = y = z:\)

Therefore,
\(x + x + 2x = 180 \Longrightarrow x= 45\).
Hence, we have a \(45^{\circ}-45^{\circ}-90^{\circ}\) right triangle.

1) The side across from interior angle z measures 2. We know the lengths of the legs of a 45-45-90 right triangle. We can get the third side and calculate the perimeter. Sufficient \(\Large{\color{green}\checkmark}\)

2) 2x > y. We knew this from the stem. Not sufficient \(\Large{\color{red}\chi}\)

Therefore, A is the correct answer.
