a and b are nonzero integers such that 0.35a = 0.2b. What is the value of b in terms of a?

(A) 0.07a
(B) 0.57a
(C) 0.7a
(D) 1.75a
(E) 17.5a

The OA is the option D.

What is the best way to solve this PS question? Experts, may you show me how would you solve it? Thanks in advanced.

Simply divide both sides of the equation by 0.2 and you have your answer.

multiply both sides by 5 and we get
1.75a=b
Hence option D.

Another approach:
Given: 0.35a = 0.2b
Multiply both sides by 10 to get : 3.5a = 2b
Divide both sides by 2 to get : 1.75a = b

Answer: D

Simplifying the equation, we have:

35a = 20b

35a/20 = b

7a/4 = b

1.75a = b

Answer: D
