How long did Justin spend driving from Town A to Town B to Town C?

(1) The total distance that Justin drove was 200 miles.

(2) Justin's average rate for the 100 miles from Town B to Town C was 50 miles per hour.

Using both statements the answer should be 4 hours. Am I wrong? Please, someone, explain this to me.

Each statement is clearly insufficient on its own.
Statements combined:
Distance from A to B = (total distance) - (distance from B to C) = 200-100 = 100 miles.
The time to travel from A to B can be ANY POSITIVE VALUE.
Thus, the total time for the entire trip cannot be determined.
INSUFFICIENT.

The correct answer is E.

Statement One Alone:

The total distance that Justin drove was 200 miles.

Since we don't know the distance from Town A to Town B or from Town B to Town C, nor the rate of each leg, we can't determine the total time of the trip. Statement one alone is not sufficient.

Statement Two Alone:

Justin's average rate for the 100 miles from Town B to Town C was 50 miles per hour.

Since Justin traveled 100 miles at 50 miles per hour, we know he spent 2 hours traveling from Town B to Town C. However, since we don't know anything about neither the time spent traveling from town A to Town B nor the rate, we can't determine the total time of the trip. Statement two alone is not sufficient.

Statements One and Two Together:

Even with the two statements, we still don't have enough information to determine the time spent traveling from Town A to Town B , so we can't determine the total time of the trip.
