Chasing a (GMAT) dream

by Lookingfor700GMAT » Sun Mar 07, 2010 6:12 am
Hey. I am sitting the GMAT exam in 8 days. As my name states, I am looking for a 700 plus score. At the moment I my verbal is around the late 30s/early 40s level in the scaled score so I want to push as high as possible. My quant seems to be the weaker of the two sections in the GMAT (which is the opposite of many other people). My highest scaled score is 44 on the quant and I think I am probably around an early 40. If I can fire a 40 plus on the verbal then I think I would need to go past mid 40s on the quant. What does anyone suggest I do to boost the quant part of my game? I have used the GMAT prep exams, OG, Kaplan 800 and Kaplan course book as part of my revision. I read that the Mahattan guide is good for quant but is it worth getting into now with 8 days left? I would say the opportunities where I can improve most in quant is geometry and number properties.

Hmmm... If you're 100% sure that geometry and number properties are your weaknesses and can get your hands on the MGMAT guides today, then maybe it's worth it. If not, you should probably spend your time revising from the OG! I always tell people that it's important to work on the OG right before their test because you get used to the structure of questions. Here's also a reason why the MGMAT books are good, because they reference OG problems that specifically test the concept that's discussed in a particular chapter.
