gave Gmat Twice

by parmarnavdeep » Sun Jan 31, 2010 7:57 pm
Hi ,
I scored 550 (Q 44 V 23)in the gmat for the first time..Then i thought that i need only little hardwork to get past 600 so i prepared for gmat little less than before but still getting thru all the topics but not praticising on the DS part and SC part. I Got 450( Q 31 V21) for the second time.
I need ur advice now should i sit for gmat again , change my gmat strategy and prepare again.
Will it help my application if I get more than 600?????

it will most definitely help your application if you score above 600!

never under estimate the GMAT... you'll never have to study a little less... quite the opposite actually. As you get into more difficult questions whether it be from 550 -> 600 or 700 ->750 the problems are harder, so you actually need to study a wide breath of topics and questions

It will def help your app if you score above a 600. I would recommend not taking it again though, until you are confident that you will see a significant increase in your score. From the admissions officers I have spoken with they only want to see someone take the test multiple times if the person significantly raises their score. They never defined what significant was to them though, so take it for what its worth.
