Kaplan Test

by harsh.champ » Fri Mar 05, 2010 12:04 am
Hey guys,
Today I gave the Kaplan Free Practice Test which was scheduled on 4th March,9:30 pm EST.
In the Quant Section ,I got 36/37 incorrect with 12 minutes to spare when I completed the quant section.
The question which I got wrong( in Data Sufficiency) was something like this:-
If y is a prime number, what is the value of y?

1) y<19
2)(y-2) is a multiple of 8.

[I changed the original question ,just gave this so as to give an idea about the difficulty]

So,what should be my quant score??

Any feedback from the experts/instructors would be appreciated.
Thanks!!

P.S. My firefox window got closed due to unstability, hence I could not see my test score.
It takes time and effort to explain, so if my comment helped you please press Thanks button :)

Just because something is hard doesn't mean you shouldn't try,it means you should just try harder.

I think you meant to say that you got 36/37 correct... Otherwise your score would be really low!

With only one question wrong in quant, your score would undoubtedly be a 51, no matter how hard a question is.

Hey Dana,
Thanks for the reply!!Yes, i got 36 incorrect,1 incorrect.
Also,I wanted to know how reliable is the free Kaplan test. Can this score be used as a comparison for the actual GMAT??
Moreover, this test was linear not adaptive.
Thanks in advance.

The free test is a bit off, I think. I remember getting a quant 46 with only 3 mistakes! That's impossible in the real thing, since three mistakes would be 50 at least.

What about the Manhattan's free test.
I will be taking that today.
Hopefully a comparison across the scores may help. What your perspective in that??

The MGMAT test is a bit more accurate, I think. I took it shortly after my GMATprep test and got a 690. I had gotten a 700 on GMATprep, so that's pretty accurate, I believe.
