Hi,
i have already asked about your opinion for my profile, but this time i wanted to know what other schools to look into given my profile.
I had 650 in my GMAT, but am going to try to improve that score.
I had 115 in my TOEFL IBT exam.
I finished my graduation in 2004 in Electronics Engineering with specialization in Robotics, with a score of 14 out of 20 (I'm guessing it would be around 3.0, 3.3 GPA, but I'm not sure)
I worked for 6 months before my graduation as part of the university robotics investigation team.
I've worked 2 full years in a robotics company in Portugal, and 2 full years as a technology consultant for Deloitte in Portugal.
I am planing on applying to Darden, but I want to know what other schools to look out for, just in case.

Last time you asked me about my extra-curricular activities, what kind of activities are considered? I spend a lot of time helping friends with assembling and fixing computers, but is this an activity one would put in when applying to an MBA?

Hi agps,

What are you hoping to do after your MBA? What are your criteria for selecting schools? Many people prefer a certain location (NYC or San Francisco or Chicago for instance), a certain style of teaching (case or lecture) or have specific goals that require programs with strength in those areas (MIT for technology, Wharton for finance, Kellogg for marketing - for instance). Visiting a list of schools will give you an idea of your "fit" with the student population, whether you like the teaching style, etc.

If you're asking which schools you can get into, I would take a look at the businessweek.com school profiles and search for schools where your basic stats would be at the mean for those schools. That will give you an idea of where you may be most competitive. Applying to a mix of schools this year is a good strategy - one or two "reach" schools, one or two that seem reasonable for your profile, and then one or two "safety" schools (where your stats are high for their class profile.)

Extracurriculars are usually volunteer activities or other outside of work organized activities such as involvement with a sports team, alumni association, or other organization. Hobbies are things you do for fun in a non-organized manner - which is what you are describing I think.
