Getting admission without scholarship

by eozen » Sat Oct 12, 2013 10:59 pm
Dears,

I would like to ask you a question regarding admission.

As you know, business schools share class profile. These profiles include students awarded Full scholarship. I don't have any expectation to receive a scholarship due to my low gpa(2.82) and average gmat (660)

1-As profiles include students awarded Full scholarship, may i expect admission committee accepts some students with lower scores than average admitted students because they will not get any scholarship.
2-do you think does it work If I mention in one of my essays that I don't need any scholarship?

Thank you

Hey there,

1) Yes, the average is just that, an average. Be careful how far from this average you fall, however. While they do accept people below the average, the scores they accept are obviously within a certain statistical window. So if the average GMAT is a 715, might they accept a 600? Maybe. But if they do, it would be one or two students max. And those applicants would have to be amazing!

2) No, don't mention this. You probably won't get assistance anyway so bringing it up does no good.

I hope that helps. Let me know if you have any other questions!
