How much time btw. last practice test and real GMAT?

Depends on how many practice cats you've already completed and whether timing is a major issue for you. If you've done 10 cats, doing 1 more might not matter - better to spend that time reviewing. If you've only done 2 cats, then 1 more would probably help. If timing is an issue, do the extra cat for practice in a real environment.

I tell my students they CANNOT take a practice test within 3 days of the real thing - and I strongly suggest that they take their final practice test exactly a week before the real test (same time of day and everything).

This test is like a mental marathon - and you don't run a practice marathon right before the real thing or you'll just tire yourself out.

In addition, the whole point of taking a practice test is figuring out what you want to do the same way next time vs. what you want to do differently next time. You actually need a few days (at least!!) to analyze a test, figure out what those things are, and implement any changes you want to make.

Thanks for the tips guys. I think thats a good idea to gradually wind down this last week and focus on review. I've now done 4 practice CATs and all been in the mid 600's. Timing has never been an issue and usually I've had a good bit of time left over at the end of each section, especially in verbal.

My plan is to take it easy these next few days, review some basic math, and look forward to the test. Thanks!

what do the acronyms stand at the end of your signature:

what tests did you take?
how far apart were they? for exaple, did you take one each week?
