stmt1,

L1 is parallel to x=3y

x=3y

y=(1/3)x

L1 slope=1/3[Lines which are parallel have same slope]

Suff

stmt2,

(3,1)

y=mx+c

1=3m+c

No info abt C

what is the slope of line l1
(1) as l1 || to the y=1/3*x , the slope of l1 must be the same or 1/3 sufficient
(2) we can`t construct the line using only one point (3,1) rescind 2 st

Selango, all your work was correct, but you chose the wrong answer. You'll kick yourself if you do that on the GMAT!
